

She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Hull of Memphis, Tennessee. After completing public school in Memphis, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Blue Mountain Baptist College for Women in Blue Mountain, Mississippi. For one year, she taught school in Dundee, MS.
In 1951, Sarah entered New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, where she earned her Masters Degree in child care and development. After graduation, she served as Director of Children's work for the First Baptist Church, Ashville, North Carolina. Later she became Director of Children’s Work for the North Carolina Baptist State Convention, Raleigh, North Carolina.
On December 26, 1958, Sarah married Bill Cabaniss, Minister of Music, Second Baptist Church in Shelby, North Carolina. While Bill completed his education, Sarah taught school in Oklahoma, in Tecumseh, Shawnee and Girls Town. She also taught in Champaign and Marion, Illinois.
Sarah was one, of four children, three girls and one boy. Her Father had insisted that all three girls get teaching degrees, which they did. After marriage the three girls taught school to help their spouses complete their degrees.
She is survived by her husband Dr. Bill Cabaniss. They have been married 55 years. She is also survived by two children, Jane Cabaniss Jarrell of Richardson, Texas, Charles D. Cabaniss of Rowlett, Texas and four grandchildren, Sarah and Luke Jarrell and Chelsey and Will Cabaniss.
She was genuine Christian lady, wife, mother and grandmother.
Because she was a Christian and served her Lord until – not the end - but the beginning of her life in heaven, we celebrate her life and mourn with complete hope.
Visitation will be 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Sparkman Funeral Home, 1029 S. Greenville Ave., Richardson, Texas 75081. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Orchard Hills Baptist Church, 3001 Saturn Rd., Garland, Texas 75041. Interment to follow at Restland Memorial Park, Dallas, Texas.
