Sue was born on August 8, 1933, in Tate, Mississippi, to William and Alma Farrow. She was raised in Memphis, Tennessee, where she spent her early years surrounded by family and Southern traditions that would remain close to her heart throughout her life.
In 1950, Sue married Charles Roberts, and together they built a life rooted in love, commitment, and family. They shared many decades together and raised two children. Sue dedicated her career to working as an insurance sales manager with State Farm, where she served faithfully for more than 20 years.
Outside of her professional life, Sue found her greatest joy in caring for the people around her. She cherished time spent visiting, gathering, and creating memories with family and friends. Sue especially loved being in the kitchen, where she could often be found preparing her favorite Southern comfort foods and baking delicious sweets for those she loved.
Sue will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and the steady, caring presence she brought into the lives of others—a woman who expressed love through both simple moments and thoughtful acts.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Roberts; daughter-in-law Bethann Cothard Roberts; sister Hazel Farrow Bryant; sister Norma Farrow Fields Carroll; and brother William Farrow Jr.
Sue is survived by her sons, Doran Roberts and Robin Roberts; daughter-in-law Tammy Roberts; grandchildren Jillian Lindsay (Sean Lindsay), Lauren Roberts, Peyton Roberts, Chris Thomson, James Thomson (Carlyn Thomson), and Josh Slaughter (Roxy Smith-Slaughter); along with many extended family members and loved ones who will continue to carry her memory forward.
The Roberts family thanks you for your prayers and support, and welcomes family and friends to leave memories, photos, and messages of condolences in the guestbook below.
