Vivian Anita Garner

Vivian was born on March 1, 1922 in Waco, Texas to Ida Mae and Jack Wendeborn. She attended Crozier Tech and shortly afterward met her sweetheart, Lloyd Hayes Garner. They married on October 16, 1941 and had two daughters. Vivian took pride in her career at established Dallas companies such as Reynolds-Penland—never letting anyone forget her favorite customer was Tom Landry—and Henry S. Miller Company where she worked as a leasing agent in the 1960s and ‘70s. However, her true passions lay with the Dallas Cowboys, country western music, square dancing, traveling the countryside of Texas and Colorado, and, as she grew older, watching “Dancing with the Stars.”

Vivian is survived by her two daughters, Darlinda Trammell and Sharon Garner; her four grandchildren, Derek Trammell (Nicole), D’ann Trammell Hughes, Brandon Finger (Amanda), and Alisha Sinacola (Joseph); and her eight great-grandchildren; Grace and Duke Trammell, Alexandra and King Hughes Jr., Gaetano, Valentino and Sophia Sinacola, and Chloe Finger. Additionally, she is survived by her two brothers and their wives, Irene and Jimmie Wayne Speck and Nancy and Lonnie Lee Speck.

She is predeceased by her husband Lloyd and her brothers Eugene Albert, Thomas J.O., Bobby Gene, and William Lem Speck.

A memorial service for Vivian will be held at St. Michael’s and All Angels Episcopal Church, 8011 Douglas, Dallas, Texas 75225 at 11:00 am Friday, December 7. In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift to Southwestern Medical Center for Osteoporosis Clinical Research.
