William "Bill" Finch

Finch, William Robert was born June 24, 1954 in Victorville, CA and passed away June 29, 2014 in Dallas, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Neal Finch and Mary Elizabeth Finch; sister, Jan Ellen Ledenham and brother, Jim Neal Finch. He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Ann Erhart and son-in-law, Matt Erhart of Dallas, TX; granddaughters, Emma Elizabeth Erhart and Julia Kathleen Erhart; son, Danny Steven Finch of Forney, TX; daughter-in-law, Stephanie Renee Hebert; granddaughters, Maygen Renee Mings and Kaylen Michelle Mings; grandson, Ryan Richard Finch; sisters, Karen Gail Longenecker, Beth Ann Finch and brother, Glenn Lee Finch.

Bill was a fun loving person who enjoyed family and friends, when he was not working. He was a maverick in the retail industry spanning 3 decades and for a long time as a District Manager for Family Dollar. He received many awards for his many achievements such as highest customer satisfaction, highest growth, lowest turnover, lowest shrink, etc.

Bill was known for his love of laughter and fun loving spirit. He enjoyed calling his sisters and making them laugh until they peed their pants. One of his many mottos was “It’s not how many times you get knocked down, it’s how many times you get up”. He was exceptional at finding the positive in a situation and keeping things lite.

The funeral will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Sparkman Funeral Home at 1029 S. Greenville Ave. Richardson, TX. The viewing is Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. Burial will be at Restland. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society.
