Willie N. Dodson

Willie N. Dodson, 90, of Richardson, Texas, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2014 in Dallas, Texas. Services for Bill will be held on Monday, September 22, at Sparkman Richardson Funeral Home in Richardson, Texas, at 11am. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service as well as afterwards with a small reception. Interment will be at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery at 2pm. Military Honors will be accorded at the gravesite by the United States Marine Corps.

Willie (Bill) N. Dodson was born on February 2, 1924 in Memphis, Texas. He met the love of his life, Emily Ruth, and they were married in 1951. He received his BA from TCU in 1952 and his MBA from East Texas State University in 1977. Bill had a career in finance and was passionate about it. Once he retired, Bill built himself a lake house and even helped build homes for a few of his friends. After he accomplished those feats, Bill felt the need to get back into the business world by teaching business law. Bill was also passionate about sports. He loved TCU, Texas, and Alabama football. He liked the Cowboys and the Texas Rangers. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Emily Ruth. He is survived by 5 children: Leslie Heaton, Norman Dodson, Kevin Dodson, Craig Dodson, and Cindy Vernon; 9 grandchildren: Melanie, Ashlee, Robert, Dara, Maureen, William, Whitney, Danielle, and Bradley; 5 great-grandchildren: Haley, Kaitlen, Michael, Kaiden, Remy.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Heaton, William Dodson, Bradley Vernon, and Mike Vernon.
