

Zoila Ramos Cavazos, 86, of Dallas, Texas, passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, October 3, 2015. Zoila was born January 25, 1929 in San Antonio, Texas to Fernando and Virginia Ramos. Together with her husband of 56 years, Zoila raised her six children in West Dallas and Oak Cliff. She was a member of the El Buen Samaritano Methodist Church and held a strong faith in Christ. Known as “Mama” by family, neighbors, and friends - she loved cooking her favorite foods, including tamales and enchiladas, for all to enjoy. Most of all, Zoila cherished time with her family and being surrounded by her children.
Zoila is survived by her children, Joe Cavazos and wife Gloria of Frisco, Texas, Israel Cavazos, Jr. and wife Nora of Garland, Texas, Diane Colburn of Dallas, Texas, Leticia Burk and husband Chip of Frisco, Texas, Rachel Church of Dallas, Texas, Cesar Cavazos and wife Beth of Euless, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and sister, Maria Ramos. She is preceded in death by her husband, Israel Vargas Cavazos, Sr.; parents, Fernando and Virginia Ramos; daughter, Suzie Cavazos; great-granddaughter, Morgan Cavazos; sons-in-law, Bill Stephens and Jesse Colburn; and several brothers.
A visitation will be held at Sparkman Richardson Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 7,2015 from 6:00-8:00 pm. The funeral service will be at Sparkman Richardson Funeral Home on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 10:00 am, with burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
