He was retired from Kenan Transport. He was preceded in death by his son: Alan Humphrey.

A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel, Richlands at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Marvin Pittman officiating. Burial will follow at Onslow Memorial Park.

He is survived by his companion: Barbara Edens; son: Glen Humphrey (Tina) of Salt Lake City, Utah; step son: Bossy Fitzsimmons (Jamie) of Leland, NC; daughters: Julie Sellers (Jeffrey) of Bolivia, NC, Janice Dinovo (Ray) of Winchester, Tn.; step daughters: Diane Smith (Kevin) of Wilmington, NC, Julie Haynes (Quin) of Shelby, NC; brothers: Norwood Humphrey of Richlands, Linwood Humphrey (Jackie) of Beulaville, Anthony Humphrey (Susan) of Wilmington, Leland Humphrey (Mary) of Richlands; sisters: Cleone Futrelle (Clayton) of Richlands, Olivia Weldon (Olivia) of Jacksonville, Ala., Linda Carmondy (Bob) of Cal.; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren and four step grandchildren; special friend: Jackie Hyatt.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 20, 2012 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home, Richlands and other times at the home of Clayton and Cleone Futrelle.
