Jessie Padgette Straughn

Born in Tatnall Co, Georgia in 1932, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Earl and Myrtice Thompson Padgette. She was a devoted mother of six children, five boys and one girl, and was an avid gardner, who loved to fish and spend time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her infant son, John David Straughn and her great grandson, Devan Hemby.

A Funeral will be held at 2:30pm, Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Home, Richlands with Rev. Eric Marshburn officiating. Burial will follow at 8:30am, Monday, June 6, 2016 at Onslow Memorial Park, Jacksonville.

She is survived by her children, Joyce Hemby of Jacksonville. Kenneth, Linwood, and James Straughn all of Richlands, Wally Straughn of Phoenix, AZ and Mike Straughn of Virginia Beach,VA. Twelve Grandchildren, Eighteen Great Grandchildren, and two Great Great Grandchildren. Also, her trusted friend Gabby (her pet).

The family will receive friends following the service Sunday at the funeral home in Richlands.
