Robert Lonn Hood Sr.

He was a member of the Richlands United Methodist Church. Mr. Hood served in the US Air Force for several years. He was a member of the FACA. Mr. Hood was owner and operator of the Hood’s Pharmacy in Pink Hill for 26 years. He was a member of the Rho Chi Pharmacy Fraternity and was a Pharmacist for 50 years. Mr. Hood pioneered the Pharmacy Tech Program. He worked with the Lenoir Co. Health Dept. for many years. He was lovingly known as “Mr. Bob” to many people. He also loved to write poetry in his spare time. He was preceded in death by his parents: Dixon and Ruth Hood; sister: India Hood; brother: Dick Hood.

A Funeral Service will be held Monday, February 4, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Richlands United Methodist Church with Reverend Roger Cope officiating. Burial will follow at Onslow Memorial Park with Military Honors.

He is survived by his wife: Jennie M. Hood; son: Robert Lonn Hood, Jr. of Wilmington; daughter: Tay Rett Buie Hood of Beulaville; step children: Silas Edward Gray of Comfort, Mary Jeanette Gray of Southbridge, Mass., William Gray of Goldsboro, Helen Marshburn of Maple Hill, Ronald Gray of Richlands, Penny Huneycutt of Richlands, Christina Williams of Wilmington; sisters: Obeda H. Lavin of Endicott, NY, Ruth Dixon Hartline of Kernersville, NC; ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home, Richlands on Sunday, February 3, 2013.
