Weston Bryan Cox
November 5, 1932 – April 15, 2018
Weston Bryan Cox, 85, of Richlands, died Sunday April 15, 2018 surrounded by family.
Survivors include his wife Shelby Eubanks Cox; two sons, Jerry (Shelia) of Holly Ridge and Ben (Lu) of Burgaw; two daughters, Darlene Futral (Troy) and Lisa Barbee (Kevin) both of Richlands; 9 grandchildren, Jeremy Cox, Nicole Helman, Amanda Cox, Isaiah Barbee, Sara Futral, Tara Edwards, Kasey Barbee, Joshua Futral and Matthew Weston; 14 great grandchildren and one brother, Earl Cox, of Pink Hill. He had several foster children that called him “Daddy”: Tanya Weeks, Wanda Delph, Angie McGill, Sandy Martin and Richard Byrd. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cebron and Viola Cox; three brothers: Tommy Lee, Barton and Hinton and one sister, Nancy Fountain Bryan. He had many loving nieces, nephews and special “girlfriends”.
The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church of Richlands Family Life Center from 1:30-3:00 on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 and at other times at the home on Cox Avenue. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the church and burial will follow at the Cox Family Cemetery.
Weston was a native of Onslow County and always loved to work. He was known by many as “The Milkman”. He later owned and operated a service station and furniture store in Richlands. After that he was employed with Onslow County School and retired from Camp Lejeune Civil Service.
