She was the ninth of ten children which included five girls and five boys. Her parents died when she was very young, and at the age of 5 she moved to California
to live with family members. She married Cleo Blair and together they raised three children, Jimmie Lee Oliver, Diane Douglas, and Shirley Marie Blair. She worked at Del Monte Cannery as a Food Processor for 15 years. She was best known for her delicious cakes and for being one of the best cooks ever. She loved being with family and friends, and all were welcomed at her home at any time. She was very outspoken and not afraid of "telling it like it is", as she would say. She will truly be missed by many family and friends who loved her.
