The Life & Legacy of Mother Dora Wilma Pryor
MOTHER DORA WILMA PRYOR was born on August 1, 1927 in Perote-Smuteye, AL to the proud parents of Haven Samuel Walker, Sr. and Velma Warren-Faulk Walker.
Mother Pryor confessed Yahweh Hamashiach (Christ) as her Lord and Savior, at an early age while attending Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of Indian Creek, AL.
Mother Dora met and was united in Holy Matrimony to her beloved Willie James Pryor in the 1950’s. To this union, three children were born. One daughter, Evelyn Pryor, preceded her in death.
After over 30 years of employment, she retired from Marin General Hospital as an Environmental Services Specialist.
Mother Dora was a strong, virtuous woman. She was dependable and someone whom many found to be reliable and true. Over the years, she served gracefully in many capacities of ministry at Greater St. Paul Baptist Church in Richmond, CA, under the leadership of Pastor Gregory Pryor, such as: the Mother’s Board, Hospitality Auxiliary, the Choir and the Women’s Mission Circle. Her favorite pastimes were cooking, baking, and canning preserves. She absolutely loved attending her grandson’s football games, family gatherings, and fellowship with others on Sunday’s after church services.
On Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at 11:15 a.m., the angel of death broke the circle of the Pryor Family by taking our precious and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and a Mother of Nations from the Tribe of Judah. She was the third of nine children preceded in death by seven brothers: Albert, Edwin, Sr., Daniel-Jerry, Haven Jr., Melvin, MacDonald, Charles Roy, and one sister, Lula Mae Walker-Tavar-Davis.
Mother Dora Wilma Pryor leaves to cherish her precious memories one son, Pastor Gregory (Wanda Denise) Pryor; one daughter, Sharon (Herve’ Sr. ) Changeux; two grandsons, Phillip Thomas and Herve’ Changeux, Jr; four granddaughters, Tiffani Pryor, Krystal Pryor, Chantal Changeux and Ervia’ N. Changeux; three great-grandsons, Maximillian S. Johnson, Jr., Malachi Romero, and Herve’ Changeux, III.; one brother-in-law, William Davis; one sister-in-law, Bessie Kate Walker and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
