

She was baptized at the age of 9 years old at Evergreen Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana under the pastorage of Reverend Evans.
In 1944, Dorothy moved to Washington, D.C. After 32 years of living there in D.C., she became employed by the United States Federal Government in the accounting department. In 1978, she retired from the Federal Government and moved to Richmond, CA. In 1979, She joined Bethlehem MBC under the pastorage of Dr. A. Newman and later under Dr. Alvin C. Bernstine.
Dorothy was an active church member and faithful member of the Sunday School Department (Class Secretary) and the Women's Ministry. Despite her health challenges she continued to attend the Veterans of Foreign War, American Legion, and Ashlar Chapter #47 of Richmond (35 years). She was a dedicated member of and a diligent worker within the aforementioned.
She leaves to cherish her memory a host of nieces, nephews, a god daughter, and several enduring friends.
A Celebration of Life for Dorothy will be held Friday, March 12, 2021 from 9:15 AM to 10:15 AM at Fuller Funerals, 3100 Cutting Boulevard, Richmond, CA 94804. Following the Celebration of Life will be an interment at 11:00 AM at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 2011 Arnold Industrial Way, Concord, CA 94520.
