Ms. Eula Lee Harris

A Celebration of Her Life & Legacy will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Fuller Funerals, 3100 Cutting Boulevard, Richmond, CA 94804.

Following the service, the interment will take place at Rolling Hills Memorial Park Cemetery in Richmond, California, where she will be laid to rest surrounded by the love and memories of family and friends.

Eula Lee Holmes Harris was born in Texarkana, Texas, to

John and Willie Holmes. She was the youngest of four children, joining her siblings Lottye, Daniel, and Cora. Raised during challenging times, Eula learned the values of hard work, faith, and perseverance from her parents. Her father worked on the railroad, while her mother supplemented the family’s income by taking in laundry.

During World War Il, John Holmes moved his family to Northern California in search of greater opportunities. They settled in Albany, CA where Eula attended Albany High School and proudly graduated.

After high school, Eula welcomed her first daughter, Donna, followed a year later by her second daughter, Diane. She later married Nolan Davis, Diane’s father, and the family briefly lived in Houston, Texas before returning to California, where they settled in

Berkeley.

Eula was known for her joyful spirit, boundless energy, and loving heart. She and her daughters became active members of Progressive Baptist Church, where she faithfully participated in church programs and activities. She worked at Del Monte Cannery before beginning a 35-year career as a seamstress alongside her brother at Alcatraz Cleaners.

Eula later married Amos Harris, and they shared 36 loving years together until his passing in 1997.

Throughout her life, she was affectionately known as Mom, Ms. Eula, Eul La La Grammy, and Auntie Eula. She found great joy in sewing, traveling, attending family reunions, and staying connected with her family and friends. Even in her nineties, she remained committed to helping others by participating in a UC Davis Alzheimer’s research study, and upon her passing, generously donated her brain to further Alzheimer’s research.

Eula was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Diane; her husband, Amos Harris; her parents, John and Willie Holmes; her sisters, Lottye and Cora; and her brother, Daniel.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughter, Donna, and son-in-law, Shawn; her granddaughter, Kahli, and grandson-in-law, Mark; her treasured great-grandsons, Makai, Israel, and Gianni; along with a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, step-grandchildren, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were forever enriched by her love.

Eula’s life was a beautiful reflection of faith, resilience, kindness, and unconditional love. She leaves behind a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.

Ninety-eight years of grace and strength,

A life well-lived in every length.

With gentle hands and steadfast heart,

She mastered every treasured part.

A gifted seamstress, thread by thread,

She stitched love into all she made.

Each careful seam, each loving touch,

Reminded us that kindness means so much.

An entrepreneur with vision clear,

She faced each challenge without fear.

She built with faith, with hope, with pride,

Leaving a legacy that will not subside.

She lifted neighbors, friends, and kin,

Spoke words of courage deep within.

A smile, a prayer, an outstretched hand—

She helped so many rise and stand.

She was the heart of every room,

Bringing joy where there was gloom.

A loving mother, grandmother, and friend,

Whose faithful care knew no end.

Though time has called her home above,

Her greatest work was always love.

For lives she touched will always tell

Of one who served God's people well.

So we celebrate, though tears may fall,

A remarkable woman admired by all.

Her threads of love remain today,

Guiding our hearts along life's way.

Her hands are now at peaceful rest,

Her soul forever with the Blessed.

Yet through each life her love has known,

Her beautiful legacy lives on.
