I am missing you today, Dad.   The family gathers to remember you and what you meant to us all.   But you are with me every day now, helping me through every challenge.
You taught us how to live and how to die.

'Big Tom'        One year ago you took the hand of Jesus, forever in His presence you will stay. On streets of gold you now dance as heavenly music plays!

It's been a year since Dad passed.

Happy Birthday, Dad. You're still here with us in our hearts.

This was my last Sunday visit with Dad. I got a new puppy, which he really enjoyed.

My fellow Dental Residents at the VA Hospital, Rick Kennedy, Don MacDonald  and others I don't recall by name looked forward to spending a day with the very friendly and highly talented Dr. Tommy Thompson every Friday. He took the time and made the extra effort to drive down to Palo Alto
in his Cadillac to what we jokingly referred to as "The Country Club" (VA Palo Alto) to teach us Oral Surgery.  (There was a golf Course, pool lounge, and bowling alleys!)
He made us all feel comfortable while learning and struggling to remove difficult teeth and wire broken jaws on veterans. My class of 3 set a record for removing the most teeth in one year than all others before us! It was wonderful learning from such an accomplished surgeon who also had a gentle and kind chairside manner.  He respected all of the patients.
We would eat lunch together on Fridays, sometimes eating outdoors on the lawn exchanging stories and jokes. I'm tearing up here typing this.

I went on to specialize in a different surgical specialty because of the confidence he instilled in me. I will always be grateful for his efforts and I'm sure the others will join me in remembrance of him.

Tommy was a very special person with a wonderful sense of humor and a deep love of his family.  He will be dearly missed. Joan Blanchard

Dad truly left us all with a "legacy of love."   He dedicated himself to his family's happiness and he accomplished that.    My hope is that each one of us will carry his memory in our lives, keeping it alive and sharing that love with the people we meet.    That way he will truly live on and on.........

You were all very Blessed' to have such a wonderful, loving and kind man in your life .  I'm thankful my son had the opportunity to know such a man.  My prayers are with you all.  Isela losek. North dakota

Tommy was a member of the senior exercise class at the JCC. He was usually there early and greeted everyone as they arrived. He was such a nice man. We are all missing him, sitting in his wheelchair, ready to start warming up.

Dad was quiet about his accomplishments. I'm just learning about the amazing work he did for others-he was truly humble. Keep him alive in your hearts, I hope you can share stories about him. He loved a good story!!

I am so thankful for all the amazing memories, life lessons and legacy of love Grandpa has left me.

So sorry to hear about Tommy passing away.  He was a wonderful man and a great neighbor.  We will miss him.... Judy and Ralph Pelto
