Julia Bryant was born on June 28, 1951, in Panola, Alabama to loving parents, Minnie Bryant and Jim Turner. Julia attended Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Panola, Alabama as a young girl. She obtained her early education from the Sumter County Alabama Public School system where she succeeded her secondary education from North Sumter High School.
At approximately age 18, Julia moved to California and joined the fellowship of Powerhouse COGIC under the leadership of the late Pastor Ashbury Scott. Under this leadership, in 1971, Julia received the gift of the Holy Ghost and ultimately served the church as a Hospitality representative. She later served as the church secretary under the current Powerhouse leader, Pastor Melvin Scott.
Julia Bryant obtained her CNA license after attending San Francisco Nursing School in San Francisco, CA. She worked in the medical field as a devoted caregiver. In addition, for many years, Julia worked at Capwells.
Julia Bryant was a special woman who contributed to many lives in and out of the church.
To embrace Julia’s memory, she leaves her first cousin: Lucille Mathis, of Detroit, Michigan; niece, Laura Quarles of Saginaw, Michigan; close friend, Vallie Adams of St. Louis, Missouri; dear friend, Prophetess Bessie Graham of Richmond, California; God-sister, Adrienne Best of Vallejo, California; four God-children, Wayland Edwards of Oakley, California; Benicia Cobb of Oakland, California; Ken Best of Vallejo, California; and Joseph Marshall of Pleasanton, California; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Julia Bryant will forever be missed, loved and cherished by all that pleasured her acquaintance during her earthly journey.
