Precious Memories
I heard a song say, “Precious Memories, how they linger. How they ever flood my soul…”
I asked the question, How? How do we say goodbye to the One who was all God called Woman to Be? By what means do we say Farewell?
Precious memories of a mother, memories of Oralee & Carl’s child. Memories of a wife. Memories of a sister & best friend. Minds that hold on to memories of their Nana, the kindness in her eyes, the Hope & Light of Her Smile.
Precious Memories that visit in the stillness of the night, again I ask How? God says, “Utter not one goodbye, moan not a single farewell.” Look into the hearts of all those who knew her, glance into the eyes of all those she loved. You will find in their souls the portion of herself She gave to each. We all carry her with us into each of our tomorrows, therefore, no goodbye, no farewell.
Precious Memories, how they linger. In a sad hour every now & then we’ll get lonely for Her. We’ll weep & the heavens will hear our cries. I say to myself & to all… Rest your mind & let your heart be comforted, know it was a tired & weary body, to whom on one Tuesday afternoon, we bade goodnight. But when Her morning came, she was skipping through a bountiful field, on her own legs with the sun shining on and through her smile in a land called “Linda’s Glory” and to every prayer she was able to say, Amen.
We can all say Amen.
