October 27, 1953, the date of my kindergarten picture from Lawton School. Lorraine Dougherty was my teacher. Gifted, warm and kind. Concerned for each of her students.  As the twig is bent, so the tree shall grow. She affected the lives of so many in a good way.  Lorraine was blessed with the better part of 94 years of life; and you are all blessed with her memory.

You were more than a wonderful Grandmother. You will be missed by each and everyone of us. Love you so much Grandma.

Mrs. Dougherty was my kindergarten teacher at Lawton Elementary in 1953. I remember my mom taking me into her classroom and I was so scared but Mrs. Dougherty took my hand and made me feel calm and introduced me to another little girl Darlene that I still talk to today, 60 years later. In fact, I'm still friendly with a lot of my classmates that I met in that class. We all went on thru school together. She was a wonderful teacher and we all always remembered her. I'm very sorry to hear of her passing.

Mrs. Dougherty was my 2nd grade teacher at Lawton Elementary in 1963.  She made a tremendous impact on my life as a very caring and inspiring educator.  I am very sorry for your loss, but know her legacy lives on in the lives of the students she taught.

I believe that this is the same Mrs. Dougherty that taught at Lawton Elementary School where I was a pupil over 50 years ago!  I remember Mrs. Dougherty as a very smart, kind, and gifted teacher.  Those were good days for education and she was one of the best.  My condolences on a great loss.

We are so sorry for your loss. Your mother lived a full life and you should always remember the happy times you shared as a family. That will be her legacy for your family
