Margaret Erwin Longtime resident of Corte Madera, passed away peacefully at home December 15, 2015, surrounded by family. She was preceded in death earlier this year by Richard, her husband of 61 years. Beloved mother of Linda, Lee, Ramona, Bonita and Nina, she was a loving grandmother to 17 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. "Margie" graduated from Mission High School in San Francisco and after she married she lived in Corte Madera until her passing. She worked for Handi-Kup/James River Company for 33 years, retiring as a Production Supervisor in 1999. Margaret was a dedicated member of the Redwoods Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon, member of the Fellowship Committee, choir member, and volunteer for many service projects. She was active and energetic: a passionate San Francisco Giants fan, avid gardener and even went sky diving last year for her 80th birthday. In her own words, her most treasured accomplishment was "Bringing up five beautiful upstanding citizens in my children." A celebration of life service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, January 2nd, at Redwoods Presbyterian Church. The family welcomes donations in memory of Margaret to Redwoods Presbyterian Church, 110 Magnolia Ave., Larkspur, CA 94939. Margaret opened her home and her heart to many a soul, and all felt the warmth of her love; she will be deeply missed.
