

Marino "Terry" Lazzari Dec. 8, 1919 - Aug. 12, 2012 Born and reared in Worcester, Mass., Terry enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in Feb. 1941 as an Air Borne Radio Operator. In 1942 he was commissioned as a 2nd Lt., flying anti-submarine missions as a Navigator and Operational Officer in the East Coast. After WW II he was transferred to Wake Island as Adjutant and Exec. Officer of the Air Corp Unit. In 1948 he was transferred to Hamilton AFB where he met his first wife, Rena. In 1951, he was transferred to Okinawa, but when the Korean War broke out, he was rerouted to Korea. He received orders to Tachikawa AFB, Japan, and Rena joined him in Japan and they were married in 1951. In 1953, Captain Lazzari was transferred to Hamilton AFB as Budget and Fiscal Officer. Future assignments consisted of Phalsbourg, France; Peterson Field, Colorado; Mather AFB, Sacramento, and finally retiring as a Lt. Colonel in Aug. 1964. After retirement from the military, he was employed by the Univ. of CA Dental school as their Business Officer for five years. He was a member of the SIRS Group, Chapter 134, MOAA, NARFE, MENSA, held many offices as a member of the Golden Gate Barbershop Chorus, volunteered at Kaiser Hospital, Marin County Civil Grand Jury, Marin County Civic Center, Ross Valley Playhouse, Sausalito Art Festival, and Mill Valley Film Festival. His wife Rena passed away in 1993 after 42 years of marriage. In 1998, Terry married Marie Hulette. They travelled extensively; and also were "extras" in a few films. Terry is survived by his wife, Marie; daughter Sandra Terry; sister Virginia and husband Frank Paladini; Marie's children: Susan and husband Sandy Imlach; son Keith and wife Bernice Houk and daughter Nancy Ware; and other relatives in the East and West Coasts. Terry's sister Norma Racicot passed away in 2011. Funeral service will be at Keaton's Funeral Home, 1801 Novato Blvd., Novato on Friday, Aug. 17, viewing 9:00 to 10:00 AM, service at 10:00 AM and burial will follow at Valley Memorial Cemetery, 650 Bugeia Lane, Novato. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to one's personal charity.
