Joseph lost his dear mother, at an early age. Joseph found life challenging without the care of his mother, however, through determination and his faith in God, Joseph overcame adversities and obstacles. He grew up to be a God fearing, successful businessman.
At the age of 24, Joseph married the love of his life, Ethel Davis. She was his biggest supporter. From this union, four beautiful children were born, Rodney, Wanda, Joey, and Terry. Joseph’s family was his pride and joy. He worked very hard so his wife and children would not have to endure the struggles he faced as a child and young man.
In 1967, Joseph moved his family to Richmond, CA, where he worked for several car dealerships, including Golden Bear Ford, before retiring at the age of 56.
In retirement, Joseph become an entrepreneur. He owned three auto body repair shops located in Richmond and Berkeley, CA. In 1983, Joseph retired from the auto body repair industry and focused his
energy on real estate, buying and selling property.
Joseph was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, located in Richmond, CA, for over 40 years. During that time, he held the title of Deacon Demillion, and served on the Treasury Board. His faith in God
and the love for the church was phenomenal!
