

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that our family announces Agustin Hernandez Guzman of Richmond Texas passed on May 24th at Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Houston Texas.
Agustin was born on August 18th 1943 to Jose Guzman and Inez Hernandez Guzman.
Agustin attended Donna High School in Donna, Texas. He went into the United States Army serving from 1967 to 1971 with the 32nd Army Air and Missile Defense Command during the conflict in Vietnam and then stationed in Germany. He was a decorated soldier, having received the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. After serving in the United States Army, he started working as an industrial piping technician and then a civil construction tradesman.
In June 1971, Agustin met Gloria Garza in Raymondville, Texas. Three months later, they married on September 14th 1971. Agustin and Gloria went on to have two children, Pat Guzman-Fick-Garcia and Pamela Guzman-Teague. Agustin retired in 2006 and loved spending time with family and friends. Relaxed while planting plants and watching the Dallas Cowboys along with the Houston Astros. On his spare time, he enjoyed hanging around the local watering “hole” with friends.
Agustin was predeceased by his father, mother, and his sister Juanita Cardona. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Guzman, daughters Pat Guzman-Fick-Garcia (Phil Garcia son-in-law) and Pamela Guzman-Teague, grandchildren Brandon Fick, Kaylee Fick, Rylee Fick, N’Mia Teague, and N’Tai Teague. Along with many nephews and nieces from the Cardona and Garza families.
Services will be held at Forest Park Southwest Funeral Home on June 5th, 2026, at 2pm, with a reception following.
