Buford Douglas Glass, 85, of Richmond, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Buford was born on April 14, 1941, in Beaumont, Texas. He attended Lamar Tech in Beaumont where he served as Treasury of Phi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He proudly served in the United States Army Reserve for more than 12 years before beginning a career with Ecolab, where he worked until his retirement.
Buford found joy in golfing, gardening, caring for his beloved dogs, and, most of all, spending time with his family. He was known for his kindness, gentle sense of humor, and willingness to lend a helping hand. Whether family, friends, or neighbors needed him, Buford was always there with a smile and a generous heart.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Sharon Glass; his son, Jason Glass; his daughter, Courtney Rankin, and son-in-law, Robert Rankin; and his cherished granddaughter, Payton Rankin.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Park Southwest Funeral Home, 9040 FM 359, Richmond, Texas 77406. A reception will follow at the family home.
