Family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation at 1:00pm on Thursday, May 7th at Forest Park Southwest Funeral Home & Cemetery in Richmond, Texas. Funeral services will begin at 2:00pm. There will be a reception shortly after the burial.
Fred was born to Patsy and Lloyd on February 1st, 1957 in Lake Charles, Louisiana and moved to the Houston area in 1964. He graduated from Madison High School in 1975, where he met his wife, Charlotte. After attending the University of Houston, he spent many years growing a pawn shop business, working honorably and building trust with the community. Fred’s faith in Christ was central to the way he lived, and he was intentionally welcoming, making room at his table for heartfelt discussion and friendship. He was a devoted member of Grace Community Bible Church for close to 30 years, where he played guitar in the worship band and attended several overseas mission trips. He was licensed as a private pilot in 2010 and enjoyed taking flights around Texas with his wife and children. He enjoyed traveling, meeting new people, playing music, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Fred was known for his humor, generosity, and genuine curiosity in others. He was quick to forgive, patient, thoughtful, and delighted in serving others. He was voted most friendly in high school, a quality that continued throughout his life.
Fred is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Ron, Paul, and Dennis, and multiple friends and extended family.
Fred is survived by his cherished wife of 40 years, Charlotte, his children Travis and Trisha and their spouses Rebecca and Matt, his brother Bill, and his six grandchildren, Maddie, Zach, Bethany, Sarah, Nate, and Evie.
We are comforted and rejoice in knowing that Fred is with the Lord. Because of his trust in God’s sovereignty, he lived his life unburdened and eager to receive all of the days that were gifted to him. He will be greatly missed.
