Joseph Christopher Baughman

Born on September 18, 1963, Chris was the beloved son of the late Joseph Henry Baughman and Doris Lynn Knotts Baughman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Henry Baughman and Doris Lynn Knotts Baughman.

Chris’ greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Mary Lou Founds Baughman; his four children, Christopher Baughman, Daniel Baughman (Loren), Tanner Baughman, and Sarah Tinsley (Connor); and his seven cherished grandchildren, Claire, Henry, Molly, Jack, Madelynn, Cruz, and Cora. He is also survived by his siblings, Sarah Haydel (Scott), Nancy Baughman, and David Baughman (Jonie), along with many extended family members, friends, and colleagues who will miss him dearly.

In his early years, Chris was a graduate of Farmerville High School and went on to earn his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, formerly Northeast Louisiana University.

During his time at the university, Chris was an active member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity, where he served as president of his pledge class. He was also a proud member of Phi Delta Chi, the professional pharmacy fraternity.

Chris dedicated more than 20 years of his life to serving others as a pharmacist. In addition to his pharmacy career, he was a successful entrepreneur who owned and operated multiple businesses throughout his life. He approached every endeavor with determination, vision, and a strong work ethic.

Outside of his professional accomplishments, Chris was passionate about health and fitness. He competed nationally in CrossFit competitions, demonstrating the same discipline and perseverance that defined every aspect of his life.

Chris was deeply committed to serving his community and believed in giving back through both leadership and service. For more than 15 years, he was an active member of the Fort Bend Rotary Club and a graduate of the 2002 Fort Bend Leadership Academy. He also served on the Board of Trustees for the Fort Bend County Museum Association from 2010-2013 and on the Meyer Endowment Board at Calvary Episcopal Church and School from 2013-2015.

Chris’s generosity extended far beyond the organizations he served. Through his businesses, he proudly supported countless local sports teams, schools, and organizations, always looking for ways to invest in the people and causes that made Fort Bend County a stronger place to live.

Chris will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his entrepreneurial spirit, his commitment to his profession, and his pursuit of excellence in every area of life. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched, his family he loved so deeply, and the example of perseverance, generosity, and strength that he leaves behind.

A celebration of Chris’ life will be at Forest Park Southwest Funeral Home Saturday August 1, 2026 from 5:00-8:00 pm. Address: 9040 FM 359, Richmond, Texas.
