You are a such a great man. 
Wonderful soul. Knowing you when l came to this country. You were such a blessing to me when l came fresh to America over 34 years ago. I remembered when we are were together living with my Dad, very fresh from Nigeria. My Dad’s wife wouldn’t even bother to buy me feminine products, but you always read my mind and willingly give me pocket money to get what l needed. You  also helped me to go to the post office to mail all my letters to Nigeria because l couldn’t go by myself. I opened my heavy heart to you so many times and you always consoled me in a unique way. You understood what l was going through with some wicked people of this world. You always encouraged me and l always l held on to your word. The first day you told me about your diagnosis, l was devastated and sad.
On the last Wednesday of the week of your departure, I was standing at the edge of your sick bed telling you that l will come and check on you again and your response was solemnly “Seun, O se oo”. You went back to sleep and l left not knowing that would be the last word you will utter to me. My heart is broken because I won’t be seeing you anymore but l will always remember your words. Sun re o Egbon mi. No more pain, no more fear. No more suffering. The Lord will keep your wife, your son and all the loved ones that you leave behind.

It's hard to believe that you are gone.
I looked back from my memory, I remember when we were young at koloko, how you taught me how to read and write and I was able to use Yoruba language to translate to English. And the very day you are about to leave for American at Mafoluku Oshodi, you sang a song which I can never forget,,"Isoro Oni o, Adun Lola ni,ma Bokan je Jina jesu amu o ye ge". Meaning you have known God right from your youth, and you believe in the Lord all your life which is the only one thing that God requires of you.I am glad that you have gone to meet your creator and am rest assured that you are resting in the right hand of the Lord, till we meet to part no more,

TRIBUTE TO A BELOVED BROTHER 

Brother Segun as we fondly called you. Your passing has left a deep void in the family, and it is difficult to find the right words to express how much we will miss you.

You lived a life that touched many people. You were a brother, an uncle, a friend, a mentor, and a source of strength to those around you. Your presence brought warmth to the family, and your memories will remain with us for many years to come.

Although we mourn your departure, we are grateful for the years we shared with you and for the impact you made in our lives. The moments, conversations, laughter, advice, and memories we had with you are treasures that death cannot take away.

It is painful to say goodbye, especially when we wish we had more time with you. But we take comfort in knowing that your life was meaningful and that the legacy you left behind will continue to live through those you loved and influenced.

Egbon , you may be gone from our sight, but you will never be forgotten. Your memory will remain in our hearts, and your name will continue to be spoken with love and honour.

Tribute to Segun, a great friend and brother.
Our paths crossed in 1985 at the Nigerian Breweries Limited, Ibadan now called NB Plc. He was an Electrical Technician while I was a newly transferred Fitter Machinist to the branch.
Although we were not very close at the time, he was known to be a reliable source of information among his friends. I benefited from his wealth of ideas and  willingness to help at any time.
In 2016, my wife and I visited my family house in Osogbo and while there, we saw some of our belongings we kept there before we migrated to the US. One item stood out among them, and that was the two-burner stove and a 12kg cylinder that Segun facilitated it’s purchase for me and another friend at #60 from the then Nigerian Gas Cylinder Company, Ejioku, Ibadanin 1988.
Segun came to the United States in 1989 while I arrived in 1998but we weren’t in touch because I did not have his contact information. I later got his contact in 2004 from SegunOdebunmi when I visited Ibadan Brewery.
I called him immediately from Nigeria and our friendship blossomed from that moment.
Segun was never tired of helping people with his resources. We shared many good moments together 
and for the challenges we faced together, we overcame many of them by the special grace of God. I cannot question God about why you left but grateful to God for the life you lived. Thank you for being a good “SUPPORT SYSTEM”.
It is rather unfortunate that you left without us fulfilling many of our retirement plans together. The journey however continues my dear friend and my consolation is that “the good that man does lives after him” and for the fact that you have gone to be with the Lord.
To Bukola your darling wife, Matthew, your loving son, the Ogunlana, the Adeyemo and the Egbetola families, friends, and associates, I pray that God gives us all the fortitude to bear this great loss.

A Tribute to Daddy Matthew

It is with a heavy heart, yet gratitude to God, that I celebrate the life of an older friend and mentor. Daddy Matthew, your passing has left a void around those who knew and loved you but has also called us to reflect on the gift of life and the influence you had on those around you. 

Daddy Matthew, the first time I met you was in December 2019, when you came from Dallas to Houston, with your friend and my uncle, Daddy Ibeji, to visit and comfort my mom after her knee surgery. Your selflessness in making the impromptu drive to Houston at the prompting of Daddy Ibeji to visit my mom left a lasting mark on me. It didn’t take long to become a friend of the Ogunlana family when you relocated to Houston in February of 2022. 

You would call if you haven’t heard from me in a while, asking of the kids and how I’m doing. You were a big ‘egbon’ to all, especially to us your ‘aburos’ that were much younger and always made sure to be of comfort and entertain those around you. It was just a year ago that we celebrated your 65th birthday and you were jolly and full of life. We connected well sir, especially with your jokes, as you were someone I could talk to and seek advice from. 

You would always tell me not to worry when I confide in you, that everything would be alright, even though you were going through health challenges. I admired your incurable optimism and being around you made me look on the bright side of life. Although you are no longer with us, the warmth you embodied remain alive in me and others you touched with your open heartedness. 

You were a man of strong conviction and stuck with them. You made your mark and your race is now over. We take solace that you have found rest in the bosom of our Lord and savior.

A Tribute to My Beloved Uncle.

With a heart full of love and gratitude, i celebrate the life of my dear uncle, pa Timothy Ogunlana, a man whose kindness, wisdom, and warmth made a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Uncle, you were more than just family—you were a source of strength, a guiding light, and a constant reminder of what it means to love unconditionally. Your laughter was infectious, your words full of wisdom, and your presence a gift to everyone around you.

You had a heart so big that it embraced us all. Whether through your comforting words, your unwavering support, or the little acts of kindness that meant so much, you touched our lives in ways we will never forget.

My dear brother, Timothy Olusegun “Alao Lamo”, everyday since your passing on August 29. I tried to sleep all through the nights but I kept waking up 3am everyday, hoping it’s a dream, but alas the reality cleared sleep from my eyes, decades of different memories started playing on my mind, the days of our youth. Days of carmeling together from Yemetu to Koloko, days of smoking garri and kulikuli with joy. I remembered days of “short food long life” as we then tagged it in our family home. Days of acting like a NEPA man and got yourself shocked by electricity, and you were asking me to get a peak milk for you. More and more of the memories lives on.

Tim never settled for less, even when he had a good job at NBL, you made your dream of coming to America a reality with utmost faith backed perseverance. 

Bros for the most part will tell my wife and his wife, “I think Johnson will be home in the next few days”after I’ve been out of town for weeks, The spirit of God has a way of revealing that to you. 

You formed a special bond with your Oncologist, Dr. Sri, the best Doctor I have ever met, and that’s the truth, a man of faith who God used for Tim through his treatment journey. Even few days to his passing, Tim’s face brightened when Doctor Sri personally came to the Hospital to visit him.

Tim is the heart of any party he was invited, helping the celebrant takes professional grade pictures and videos and even delivers them before hired professionals does.

Wao, Timothy Olusegun “Alao Lamo”, you love me so much that he gave me unforgettable gift. He   chose my birthday to pass away to glory. I love you dear brother. I and the rest of the JOs’ will forever miss you, rest on brother.

My first contact with Mr Ogunlana was in 1998 when my family was going through a rough patch. He and his wife were a big source of support to us then and again several years later under yet another set of challenging circumstances. Several words describe Daddy Yinka, including friendly, welcoming, helpful, generous, and kind. Above all, he was salt and light in this world and his influence will be missed and his absence felt deeply. I am thankful that I had the chance to express my gratitude to him in his final days and I am encouraged, knowing that he is no longer in pain and that he is finally at rest.

Shegun — as you are fondly called— our connection carried us across continents. From the busy streets of Ibadan to the raw, real energy of Mofoluku Oshodi, and all the way to the wide‑open skies of Mesquite, Texas. No matter where we found ourselves, being together always felt like home.
It’s hard to accept that all of this now lives only in memory. In Ibadan, we were just two guys roaming the city without a care. In Mofoluku Oshodi, we learned how to navigate chaos with laughter and courage. And then Dallas — a completely different world. Yet even there, thousands of miles from where we started, our bond never changed. We explored, we talked, we remembered where we came from, and we dreamed about where life would take us next.

I still can’t believe these moments are now memories I’ll hold onto for the rest of my life.

I will always remember your laughter. You brought light into moments that felt heavy, and you taught me how to slow down, breathe, and truly enjoy life as it comes. Your joy left a mark on me that I will carry forever.❤️❤️

Uncle Tim was both my father-in-law and brother-in-law. He was easy to approach and fun to be around. Everyone who met him fell in love with his personality.
 Uncle Tim was very reliable. Even my children knew who to run to when their dad took their phones away for months at a time; they knew exactly what to do — wait for Uncle. Once he stepped in, those phones were coming back.
Through his wisdom, he started teaching me the moment I joined this family. As my husband's elder brother, he helped me understand my husband early in our marriage, and that understanding has carried me all the way to today.
One piece of advice I'll never forget: "If you have a problem with your husband, don't try to starve him — it won't work. That boy has fasted all his life. He doesn't care about food, and besides, he can cook for himself. If you try it, you'll only frustrate yourself." I took that lesson to heart. To this day, no matter what happens between us, I make sure my husband is fed.
He was kind-hearted. He would give you his last dollar just to see you smile. Even when he was sick, he gave without a second thought for himself or his own health; that's how selfless he was. He loved helping people, and he never let his own struggles stop him from showing up for others.
He never stopped dreaming. He always talked about winning the lottery so he could pull all of us out of work for good — not for himself, but so everyone else could finally rest. I knew that if Uncle had the whole world, everyone around him would benefit from it.
He was always positive-minded.  He believed in people more than they believed in themselves, and he had a way of pushing you toward dreams you never thought possible.
Uncle was a loving husband and father. I admired how devoted he was to his family, and to all of us beyond it. I have never met a single person that Uncle didn’t like. He made friends with everyone — even people on my own street him better than they knew me.
I will miss you, Uncle Tim.

Thank you Sir,for the guidance you offered, the laughter you shared,the encouragement,prayers,and the legacy you left behind. Your positive impact lives on in everyone fortunate enough to know you. Despite all, we give thanks to the owner of our lives.

It was with profound sadness that we received the news of Mr Segun Ogunlan’s passing. We were first introduced to him  and his dear wife at the oncology clinic, an unexpected encounter that blossomed into a cherished friendship. From our very first conversation, there was an immediate and undeniable connection, as if we had known each other for a lifetime, sharing insights and finding common ground with remarkable ease.

Our bond deepened quickly, leading to regular exchanges and shared moments. We fondly recall his  and his wife's presence at my birthday celebration two years ago. He  was truly the life of the party, warmly engaging with every guest, capturing memories through photographs, and ensuring everyone felt included and joyful.

'He'was, in every sense, an extraordinary individual. Our conversations were frequent and always uplifting, characterized by his unwavering optimism. I distinctly remember our last discussion, where he spoke with such hope and enthusiasm about a new medication he had just begun, a hope we eagerly shared with him.

The news of his passing came unexpectedly through his wife's call, stirring a deep sense of trepidation, as weekday calls were unusual. Her words confirmed our worst fears, leaving us with a profound sense of loss. He lived his life as a beacon of positivity, a man of deep faith, and someone who genuinely extended love and kindness to all he encountered.

His spirit, his boundless optimism, and his profound belief in the good of humanity will forever be etched in our hearts. He was a truly remarkable man, and his legacy will undoubtedly continue to inspire those whose lives he touched. We take solace in believing he has found peace.

A Tribute to a Great Man — Timothy Ogunlana

Some people pass through our lives, and some people leave footprints on our hearts that time can never erase. Timothy Ogunlana was one of those rare people.

He was a great man—not merely because of what he achieved, but because of who he was. His kindness, humility, wisdom, generosity, and genuine concern for others made him deeply special. He had a way of making people feel valued, encouraged, and remembered.

It is difficult to accept that someone whose presence brought so much warmth is no longer with us. We will miss his voice, his laughter, his counsel, his friendship, and the little things that made him uniquely Timothy. We will miss simply knowing that he was there.

Yet, beyond the pain of losing him, there is deep gratitude for the privilege of knowing such a remarkable man. His life touched many hearts, and the memories he created will continue to live in those who loved him.

Tim is a greatful-hearted, open-minded person. He's found of saying " Tell the people your experience so others might benefit "
I can't forget his roaring laughter during conversations even when the topic is life threatening!
Tim loved everything about cars and traveling. We traveled together a lot in the early 90s and sometimes just went joy- riding  around Houston metropolis. He is able to find his direction in any environment and friends will sometimes call on him to take them somewhere for free. Some  publishers also found him useful for the distributions of greensheets etc.  He considered the invention of the GPS as the best thing that ever happened to the world. 
Hey Tim!.Rest in peace until we meet  to part no more.

My husband was a fun‑loving soul who never met a stranger. He lived out “love thy neighbor” with sincerity and ease. If you were around him, you simply could not remain unhappy. His presence lifted spirits effortlessly, and he made people feel seen, welcomed, and valued. His laughter was contagious, and his kindness was genuine.

He was the person you could count on. The one who showed up, even when it stretched him thin. Saying “no” was almost impossible for him because helping people was part of who he was. He gave of himself freely, sometimes more than he should, but always with a heart full of love.

He wasn’t perfect, but he was perfect for me. God does not make mistakes, and He knew exactly why this man was the one I needed. He loved me unconditionally and was my loudest cheerleader. He poured into me in ways that strengthened me, healed me, and helped me grow into the woman I am today.

What made him extraordinary wasn’t just his humor, intelligence, or generosity, it was his heart. He loved deeply, served willingly, and lived fully. And though I now speak of him in the past tense, the impact of his life remains present. His love still surrounds me. His lessons still guide me. His memory still strengthens me.

I honor not just the man he was, but the gift he will always be. I thank God for the years we shared, for the love we built, and for the legacy he leaves behind. A legacy of kindness, faith, service, and joy. Though he is no longer here physically, he will forever live in my heart, in our family, and in every life he touched.

Sege as I fondly called him was a good and extraordinary man. He was always willing and ready to do his best for his friends , acquaintances and even strangers .He’ll be greatly missed. 
I’m deeply devastated by his transition to glory but, I’m comforted by the fact that Sege is resting on the bosom of the Lord. Good night and continue to rest in eternal peace.
