passed away on Christmas Day, at the ripe old age of 106, at Westminster Canterbury. Adelaide was preceded in death by her loving husband, John H. Smith Jr. (Johnny) and her daughter, Susan S. Sites. She is survived by her daughter, Jane S. Bowler (John); three grandchildren, H. Scott Duer, Lee Bowler Hill, John Christopher Bowler; and three great-grandchildren, Christopher Lee Hill, Emma Grace Bowler, and Mason Graham Bowler. Lovingly known for her frequent, amusing and often openly unrestrained verbal faux pas, Adelaide was also an avid bridge player, lover of animals and dedicated to her family. A memorial service will be held at the Chapel in Westminster Canterbury at 1 p.m., on Friday, December 30, 2022. A private graveside service will be held for the family. In lieu of flowers please send a contribution to an animal charity or to Westminster Canterbury's Employee Christmas Fund.
