Albert “Al” G. Woods, 62, of Henrico, VA, fell asleep on Saturday, April 13, 2019, and is now awaiting the return of our lord and savior, Jesus Christ. Al was born September 16, 1956, in California, the son of Elmer and Inge Woods. They moved to Saginaw, Michigan where he grew up. He was employed by AMF Bakery Systems, Richmond, VA.

Al’s love for God, his family and his friends was obvious to all. His great sense of humor, huge warm smile and hearty laugh made it easy to find him in a crowd. He had a heart to serve and freely gave of himself to help those around him.

Al fellowshipped for many years with The Way International, a non-denominational Christian ministry. He faithfully participated in home fellowships, classes and activities. He held several positions of leadership and participated in ministry outreach programs. He was a faithful steward, committed to live the Truth of God’s Word that he knew and understood. He frequently expressed his thankfulness for the richness of his life and blessings from God, among the most precious, his wife and daughter.

Al will be lovingly remembered by Nancy, his wife of almost fifteen years and his wonderful daughter, Genevieve. Al is also survived by his parents, Elmer and Inge Woods of Saginaw, Michigan, sister Kris Woods of Falmouth, Michigan, brothers, Robert and Jeff with his wife, Sue of Saginaw, Michigan, brothers Tom of Lansing, Michigan, John of Atlanta, Georgia, and James with his wife Roberta of Panama City, Florida and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews. Al loved and was loved by many.

Thursday, April 18, 2019, a recognition service and celebration of Al’s life will be held at Woody Funeral Home - Parham Chapel, 1771 N. Parham Rd., Henrico, VA, 2:00 p.m., Rev. Eric Koetteritz officiating.

Jon Houdyschell

April 18, 2019

May God give you the strength to calm your sorrows
And let those who care bring you sun from the rain
May you find the courage to look for tomorrows
And let those you are close to ease your pain

Let his joys live on in your laughter
Let his love live on in your days
Let the memories keep your souls together
Let his smile shine through on your face

He will be greatly missed by all at AMF

Although I did not know Al, I knew his father and mother and brother Jeff. I do wish the entire Woods family peace and comfort during this difficult time. May you find comfort in the memories you have of Al and comfort knowing he is with our Lord in heaven awaiting the day when everyone will be together again.

Dennis and I want to extend our sympathies at the loss of your son, brother, husband and father and uncle. May all the good memories you share during these most difficult of days bring all of you a sense of peace and comfort.
Thank you all for sharing your picture memories to those of us unable to attend Alberts funeral service. We enjoyed seeing him as a young child and watched as he grew into the fine man he became.
Again, may Albert rest in the love and peace of his Lord and the Angels that welcomed him to a much better place .
Sincerely, Dennis and Marcia and the rest of our Prevost family.

I am thankful to have been able to spend the day with my brother Albert and his family in Port Austin Michigan on our last family get together. It was a great day.

I knew Al for the five years that he was with AMF. He was dedicated at his job, stayed extra hours, and did what he could to get the jobs done. Al was a great listener and I could tell cared about getting his tasks done the right way. What did I like the best about Al? I couldn't walk past him on the floor without getting a "hello" and "how are you". Without fail, every time I saw him.

Al, you will be missed here at AMF. Rest in piece.
