

Ann Nunnally Gray, 93, of Richmond, Virginia, passed away on May 31, 2026, following a short illness. Born on September 2, 1932, in Richmond, she was the daughter of the late Melvin Nunnally and Virginia Nunnally.
Ann was a graduate of John Marshall High School, where she cultivated a lifelong passion for learning. A fierce advocate of education, she instilled in her children a deep love of music and languages. Her loyalty and commitment to her family were the cornerstones of her life, and she took great pride in being a devoted mother, aunt, and grandmother.
Beyond her dedication to family, Ann found joy in her yard and garden. She possessed an extraordinary knowledge of flowers that made her a trusted resource for anyone seeking gardening wisdom. Her love of the natural world brought beauty to every space she tended.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Melvin Nunnally Jr. (Jackie); her sons, John Gray and Steve Gray; and her daughter, Della Cooke, née Gray.
She is survived by her daughter, Joann Reynolds, née Gray (John); her sons, Lewis Gray and Joseph Gray; her grandchildren, David Cooke Jr., Angela Cooke, Brad Gray, Cody Gray; and her great grandson Maverick Gray; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Ann believed that family is everything, and she lived that truth every day of her life. May she find eternal peace and rest.
A private service will be held at Riverview Cemetery
