Adam I have been thinking of your mother for a long time, and I found some tracks on the internet towards Sarasota Florida about 7 years ago and wrote her but never heard back. I lived upstairs on Brooks Street in Allston back in the day when you were just two to three years old, I later was in the Strobe Lab at MIT, and was migrating from technical scientific photography to artistic street photography and your mother was very helpful and encouraging my transition from science to art. My roommates were Susan and Pam and we lived in the apartment directly upstairs from you when you were just a young boy and your father was still there. I know that is such a long long time ago but I only discovered in 2020 , that  Betty had passed and it was ironic I had been thinking of her at or about the time of her passing and been trying to contact her if at least to share some of the artwork that I got into galleries in New Mexico and Arizona. , And to thank her for the encouragement . It's nice to hear that she was so well respected by her friends and evolved so far in the world of art music and compassionate giving and sharing. I bet she was very proud of you , For reference purposes , attached photo of my general appearance in the 1971-2 era when I lived upstairs at 143

Many years ago, Betty and I took the same design class on Saturdays at School of Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Also, Color and Drawing class we had spent time together. We became good friends.
I loved her work, and her positive way of thinking.
She is the person I always have in my mind and wanted to be like--independent,creative and has warm spirit. Betty inspired me so much. 
Betty, you will be missed.

My condolences Adam. Your mom was wonderful. We were friends back in Cambridge and I can hear that great laugh as I write this.

I only knew your mother for a short time, having shared two breakfasts with a mutual friend and telling lots of stories about how we both ended up in Richmond having breakfast.  I always thought we would be lifetime friends, but alas, life is short. She was a woman with a quick wit and warm spirit, and I know that will live on forever.

Adam & family - i reconnected with your mom in sarasota and then again in richmond - we were best buds from kindergarten through college - then we lost touch after you were born - i have so treasured the months we have had to hang out together - i saw her last in january before i went back to florida for the winter - just got back to Va last week and have been trying to find her - i still cannot believe she is gone - so sad for us all - my prayers are with you and your family - dayle mayer winslow

Betty and I shared a trip to the Scottish Highlands, and she was part of the wonderful company that made the trip such a pleasure.  I wish you luck with the many changes her passing will bring.

Adam, Erin and Jasper: Betty helped all of us in the MIT Retirees Association with her friendly willingness, positive attitude, and inspiration.  Please accept my condolences on her passing.  Her spirit will live on, but she will be missed.

I'm still in shock over the news that your mom and my best friend, Betty, is no longer with us. It just seems like yesterday (last September) that we enjoyed hiking in the Highlands of Scotland together.  And, I was looking forward to another exciting trip sometime in the future with her.  She was like a sister to me and I will always treasure our time together.  My deepest sympathy to you and your family.
