Betty Main Dillard, 84, of Richmond, died on September 13, 2010. Our loving and devoted mother was born in Mt. Carmel, Illinois, on April 25, 1926. She moved to Richmond, Va., where she married John N. Dillard in 1949. She is survived by five children, Nick Dillard and wife, Janis, Eddie Dillard, Steve Dillard and wife, Kathy, Jean Ellis and husband, Carl, and Susan Dillard. Betty is survived by five grandchildren, Jason Dillard, Emily Dillard, Billy Ellis, Danielle Jennings, Katie Jennings; and great-granddaughter, Hannah Ellis. Betty was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Lindsay Ellis and husband, John Dillard. She was a switchboard operator for St. Mary's Hospital in Richmond for 28 years, where she retired at age 77. A memorial service will be held Friday, September 17 at 3 p.m., with the family receiving friends immediately following the service at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd.
