

Betty Ranger Taylor, passed away on January 26, 2018. She was born on October 8,1927, in Maybeury, West Virginia, to Robert Allen Ranger and Florence Whitt Ranger. Throughout her life, she was fiercely loyal and devoted to her family and caring for her husband, sons and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and, the love of her life, her husband, David Daniel Taylor. She is survived by her sons, Larry Taylor (Jonda) of Richmond, and Dan Taylor (Kathryn) of Manakin Sabot; her grandsons, Brian Taylor (Christine) of Center Moriches, NY, Adam Taylor (Julie) of Winter Garden, FL , and Jackson Taylor of Manakin Sabot; her great grandchildren, Annabelle, Alyson, Brendon and Jake; by her two devoted sisters, Phyllis Ranger and Dorothy Janutolo, both of Midlothian; and by her beloved nieces and nephews.
Her family would like to thank the staff of St. Mary’s Woods for their kind and compassionate care, and the staff of Hospice of Virginia for their care during the last days of her life. A special recognition and heartfelt thanks goes to Ms. Helen Johnson and Ms. JoAnn McKnight who provided her with an extraordinary level of care, companionship and love during the last months of her life.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 1 at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Road. The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 2, at 10:00 a.m. at the Gayton Road Christian Church, 12050 Ridgefield Parkway, Henrico. Entombment at the Westhampton Memorial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Gayton Road Christian Church, designated for D.D.’s Bears, or to the children’s charity of your choice.
