Carole Hart Warren Durvin (77) of White Stone, Va gained her Angel wings on Saturday, January 15, 2022. She is now celebrating her life’s accomplishments with her Father Dirgen Warren, Mother Rowena Daniel Warren, Brother Daniel Warren and our Heavenly Father. What a celebration that must be.
Carole was born on March 13, 1944 in La Cross, VA She graduated with the class of 1962 from Highland Springs High School. During her senior year at age 17 she married the love of her life, Theodore Lee Durvin, Jr. (Joe), on Dec 23, 1961. Carol and Joe spent 60 years together side by side through life struggles and achievements. Their love story was one for the books.
One of their greatest accomplishments in life was raising their three children Laurie Rice, Troy Durvin and Leslie Sims. She was the proud Mama screaming and cheering from the sidelines at every football, baseball, softball, basketball, and cheering event. She saw her children through their greatest days and she held their hands and kissed away their fears through their toughest. A trait that they have carried onto their own children. Carole was so proud to take on the title “Nannie Carole” and she was a huge part of her 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren’s lives.
Carole was a hard-working, caring, loving, and a “Spicy” woman. She was strong willed and never was afraid of life’s challenges. She faced them with dignity and strength. She worked hard for 40+ years at Interbake Foods where she started as a secretary, and worked her way up the corporate ladder, all the way to customer service manager. She was often referred to as “The Cookie Lady” for always having Girl Scout cookies in her kitchen for everybody to enjoy. She loved her job and didn’t mind traveling the country having her own adventures. Carole was always adventurous.
Carole and Joe spent their Rockin’ Years side by side together on the water, a dream they had from the start. And in their house she hosted birthdays, Christmases, Thanksgivings, graduations, weddings and the family’s special event, the annual Fourth of July “Low Country Boil”. She loved being surrounded by family and friends. She truly was the hostess with the mostest! It wasn’t a party until Carole showed up. Her radiant personality couldn’t be missed, she lit up the room.
Carole will be missed dearly by all who loved her. But we never say goodbye, just see you soon. “May the Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all” 2 Corinthians 13: 1 14]
