Carolyn Whitehorne Hicks, of Virginia Beach, formerly of Richmond, passed away February 24, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Hicks; son, Robert D. Hicks Jr.; and mother, Jessie Brancoli. She is survived by her daughter, Robin H. Gordon; granddaughter, Sydney Taylor Gordon; and longtime companion, Chris Seward; also numerous other family and friends. Carolyn was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School, Class of 1954. She retired from Reynolds Metals after 30 years of service. After retirement, she and Chris built a home in Sandbridge and resided at their home in Florida during the winter months. A graveside service will be held Monday, February 28, at 12:30 p.m. at Westhampton Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the charity of your choice.
