Charles "Chuck" Bernard Atkins

ATKINS, Charles B. "Chuck," 81, of Glen Allen, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 16, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Ann Atkins; son, David Atkins and Juli Downs of Richmond; daughter, Cindy Traylor and her husband, Greg, of Raleigh, N.C.; eight grandchildren, Heather, Carrie, Nick, Tyler, Jordan, Zach, Larisa and Shane; two great-grandchildren, Mia and Mason.

Chuck was a retired employee of the Department of the Treasury for over 30 years. He was a longtime member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, where he served as church treasurer. Chuck was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Air Force.

Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 19, 2010 at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd., where his funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010. Entombment will follow at Westhampton Memorial Park and Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Building Fund, 9155 Hungary Rd., Henrico, Va. 23294.
