Charles Preston Wilbourne

Charlie was born in Salem, Virginia on April 19, 1934. He graduated from Jefferson High School and served in the US Army. He was a graduate of the University of Richmond and a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. He made his career in banking in Roanoke and Richmond serving in management roles, including serving as president of the Bank of Powhatan from 1972 to 1982. He was a loving husband and father, and the leader of a tight knit and loving family. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Mary Anne Wilbourne; three sons, Kirk Wilbourne and his wife Lisa of Cary, NC, Stuart Wilbourne and his wife Cindy of Hilton Head, SC and David Wilbourne and his wife Waleska of NY,NY; a daughter Anne Wilbourne of Cary, NC; grandchildren, Meredith, Ashley , Leigh, Rachel, Emily, Noah and Samuel; great granddaughter, Ellie. A memorial service followed by a reception is scheduled for 2PM, Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Welborne United Methodist Church, 920 Maybeury Dr, Richmond, VA.
