Cora Catherine Drescher

DRESCHER, Cora C., of Richmond, VA died peacefully on September 9, 2015. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 72 years, Adam J. Drescher, two sisters and one brother. She was born on September 21, 1919 in Louisville, KY. She worked in a bank prior to marriage and in school lunchrooms during her children's early years. The family transferred several times with her husband's career finally settling in Richmond. Upon locating in Richmond, she and Adam joined Epiphany Evangelical Lutheran Church where she was an active member. She enjoyed and loved serving as the church secretary for many years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be forever missed. She is survived by daughter, Sharon Bertelsen; son, Adam J Drescher and his wife Nancy of Baltimore; five grandchildren, Kevin Bertelsen and his wife Jenny of Charlotte, NC., David Bertelsen and his wife Wendi of Richmond, VA., Denise Mays and her husband Chris of Springboro, OH., Adam Drescher of Baltimore, MD and Nathan Drescher and his wife Kristen of Forest Hill, MD. She was fortunate to be blessed with 9 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Epiphany Evangelical

Viewing to be held on Saturday, September 12th at Epiphany Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1400 Horsepen Road, Richmond VA from 12 noon to 1:30 pm. prior to 2 p.m. funeral service.
