

"Grandma Sallie" to most of her friends and family never missed a game played by her grandchildren and cheered for everyone. She took care of her mother through her entire life as she did her family.
Mrs. Foster attended John Marshall High School. Sallie graduated from Westhampton College, class of 1945, where she participated and lettered in Field Hockey, Basketball and Track for the college. She was a Westhampton blazer winner for the program.
Mrs. Foster worked in the Richmond City School System for 40 years of teaching mathematics at Albert H. Hill High School and George Wythe High School.
Mrs. Foster is survived by her daughter Cindy Hamilton; son-in-law, Ward Hamilton; grandsons, Drew Hamilton and Casey Hamilton; sister, Evie Katz; brother-in-law, Max Katz; sister, Dixie Hughes; nephews, Andy Katz, Billy Katz, Stephen Hughes, Charles David Hughes, Michael Hughes, Richard Hughes; and niece, Sharon Caro.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she was active in Church activities.
The family will receive friends at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd., on Thursday, May 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Hollywood Cemetery for the family on Friday, May 31. The family will celebrate her life at the residence in Manakin Sabot following the ceremony.
