Covert James Perkins, 91, of Richmond, passed away August 13 2016. Born in New York City June 27, 1925 , he served in the Army Air Forde as a B-24 Bomber Pilot for three years. He graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1950 as a Mechanical Engineer. He worked for Reynolds Metals Company for 33 years. He is survived by four children, Rand (Laurie) , Rick, Peggy Harris (Rhu) and Sara Beth Duymich (Chuck), six grandchildren and and 11 great grandchildren . He was preceded in death by his wife Sara.
He was a member of Welbourne Methodist Church in Richmond and served as member of Goochland Habitat for Humanity.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 AM Friday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, 12605 Patterson Ave. Richmond VA 23238.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Habitat of Humanity.
