David Lee Bondurant was born prematurely, June 20, 1959, in Brooklyn, New York to the late Arthur and Edna Bondurant. He was a natural born fighter from birth. He was educated in the New York City Public School System.
David Served in the United States Army from 1976 through 1983 leaving as a Specialist 4. After the military he was employed at New York City’s, Kings County Hospital. In 1985, after a weekend visit, David came back to New York, quit his job, packed his things, and headed to Richmond Virginia, never looking back. David was such a lovable, people person. There were never strangers around him. He was a jack of all trades. As a kid, David would take apart any toy that had moving parts. Not saying it ever worked again but he needed to see how it worked. He built a two-car garage on his house. Need work done on the car, plumbing, electrical, he was the go-to person. From a previous marriage, David had one daughter, Julissa, whom he cherished. In 2007 David reconnected with his childhood friend, Delores. During their 7 year courtship, David and Delores fell in love. Delores relocated to Richmond, making it her new home, where they settled and began their new life together. On April 12, 2014, they joined in Holy Matrimony. David loved Michael Jackson and would blast that music as loud as it would go. He enjoyed traveling and being around family.
The fighter in David survived pancreatic cancer and lung cancer. Recently diagnosed with bone cancer
he continued to be a fighter. Suffering from a series of strokes, the Lord took him from labor to reward on November 23, 2023.
