2025, with her family by her side. She was born in Hartford, CT, raised in Manassas,VA,
and settled in Richmond after graduating from college at Radford University.
Diane was a driven and passionate woman whose presence brought people together.
Early on in her professional career she was the proud owner of Jingles, a successful
bridal boutique where she helped countless brides celebrate life’s most meaningful
moments. Later, she transitioned into pharmaceutical sales, where her intelligence,
leadership, and natural ability to connect with others propelled her into a successful
career at AstraZeneca and Amgen.
Whether in her professional life, among friends, or with family, Diane had a rare gift for
bringing people together. She fostered connections, encouraged collaboration, and
made those around her feel truly valued. She left an impression wherever she went.
Through hard work and leadership, she rose to the role of district sales manager in the
cardiovascular division of Amgen, a position she held with pride for the latter part of her
career. Diane was known not only for her professional excellence, but also for
mentoring colleagues and fostering meaningful connections across her team and
industry. She nurtured relationships, created community, and made those around her feel truly
seen and supported. Her tenacity, caring nature, and kindness left a lasting impact on
all who knew her.
Diane is survived by her loving husband, Ralph Whitt; her sons, Adam Lewis of
Richmond and Jacob Lewis of New York City; and her stepchildren, Cathryn Albert,
Caitlin Whitt, and Tyler Whitt. She was a devoted and proud grandmother.
She was the youngest of five siblings and shared a close bond with them throughout her
life. She is survived by her sisters, Deborah Doner of Leesburg, VA; Dawn Maillie and
husband Joel of Bluffton, SC; Darlene Early of Urbanna, VA; and her brother Kenneth
Doner II and wife Brenda of Linden, VA. Diane was a loving aunt to Scott and Lauren Glaser,
Joseph and Trevor Dwyer, Danielle Norris, Michael Early, and Kenneth Doner III; and a
cherished great-aunt to Evie, Levi, Ella, Mattie, and Andrew.
A Celebration of Life will be held on 07/26/2025, with a reception to follow, at 2 pm, at
Gayton Baptist Church, 13501 N. Gayton Rd., Richmond, VA. 23233.
Guests are encouraged to bring printed photographs with a personal message or
memory written on the back. These will be collected in a designated bin at the
Celebration of Life, as a lasting keepsake for the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Diane’s favorite charity: Tunnel to Towers
Organization.
