

He is survived by his wife of over 63 years, Jean E. Harriss Hartley, their daughter Deana H. Sutton and her children Cole, Ashton and Laurel; their son Brennan D. Hartley and his wife Charlene and their sons Ryan, Derek and Joseph; their daughter Cara H. Olivo and her husband Jeffrey and their children Darren (Alyson), Kendall (Kate), Hailee (Noah), Alicia, Morgan and Bryson. He is also survived by great-grandsons Logan and Landon Hartley, Grayson Olivo and another expected great-grandson, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin C. and Retta E. Hartley, two brothers and four sisters.
His family was of utmost importance to him and he cherished each of them.
Dorman was in upper retail department store management in Richmond, VA as well as several other states (at Miller & Rhodes, Thalhimer’s and Dillard’s). He was a member of Willow Oaks Country Club for over 50 years, member of the Richmond Retail Merchant’s Association and was active in his church.
He was a genuinely kind, generous and supportive person and will always be greatly loved, missed and remembered.
A funeral service will be held at Westhampton United Methodist Church, 6100 Patterson Avenue, Richmond, Virginia, on Tuesday, April 8 at 2:00pm., followed by a reception. Private internment at Westhampton Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum.
