I graduated in 2004 and Mr. Waters was a very kind hearted person. Always wanted to see each student strive for the best and succeed. He will be truly missed and highly respected. Rest in Paradise Mr. Waters.

I graduated from Monacan last year and my last year there was my best time because of Mr.Waters every morning my sister and I would stop at wawa and I'm not sure why but I got an extra donut and when I saw Mr. Waters at the bus loop I asked him if he wanted it and he said yes to my surprise and every morning after that I got him a donut until my last day there and when he would see me at lunch he would try to give me money. He would try everything to get that money in my pocket, give it to my friends so they can give it to me, put it in my bookbag when I wasn't looking and I kept telling him I didn't need it. Mr. Waters was the best and he helped me through a lot during high school and I'm thankful that he was there for my four years and I could never express how much he met to me he was like my best friend. He will be missed.

Mr Waters had a huge heart and was so very kind to all Monacan students, teachers, staff, and parents. He was always available to help people with anything, and he loved hearing others' stories and telling his own stories. Our family loved chatting with Mr Waters. He was an amazing man and his absence will be felt in the halls of Monacan High School. We are so sorry for your loss.

Ive known Mr. Waters since my first day of my freshman year in 2014. He showed me all of my classes and taught me not to be nervous. He will be missed so much, especially walking through the halls in school asking for my pass. My heart will be broken, but I know he is in a much better place. My prayers go up to him and his family.

I absolutely enjoyed working with Doug.  He had a wonderful heart.  Doug shared his love for and the incredible beach times spent with his children.  We enjoyed each other's stories and I considered him to be my friend.  I am so saddened by the loss of this terrific man.

I'm sorry for your loss. Mr.Waters will be missed by every single student at Monacan, he made everyone feel like they had someone to go to if they needed to talk, he made the students laugh with his jokes and he told us fun fact. He will be missed. Again sorry for your loss.

Mr. Waters was the first person I met when my 2nd oldest daughter transitioned to Monacan. We later found out that he knew my husband and his uncle through  work relations. Then we had another daughter that just graduated. He had developed relationships with our children and he would always greet us all with a smile.He would even go out to the car and talk with my husband due to his back issues after surgery. Mr.Waters contagious smile as personality will be missed. From our family to yours we will keep you in our prayers.

I am the locksmith for Monacan High school,I have worked at most schools in Chesterfield,and never met a more caring person than Doug.He respected the students,but in return he expected,and got,that same respect.
I am a better person having known Doug,and will sorely miss his always upbeat personality.I will keep Doug's memory close,and will remember his friends and family in my prayers,we lost a good one.

Every morning of my senior year I went to schools and waters  was always the first to greet me. We talked atleast 20 minutes every day and he knew everything going on in my day. He told me a lot of stories about his life, family, and just fun stuffthat I'll keep close to me forever. I'll miss him dearly, he was an amazing man and always looking out for us chiefs!
