Edith Mae Anderson

Edith Italia Buccolini Anderson, (96), went to be with her beloved husband Don in Heaven on December 27, 2024 in Richmond, VA. She was born in Sarnano, Italy, a daughter of the late Alfredo and Annetta Buccolini.

Edith was a graduate of the Bradford Area High School in Bradford, Pennsylvania, where she fell in love with Don and basketball. She married Donald Wayne Anderson in the St. Bernard Catholic Church in Bradford on August 21, 1948.

In 1956 they moved to Richmond, VA to raise their young family. She was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church where she enjoyed volunteering as a church greeter for many years, and had many cherished friends. She was proudly employed for thirty years at Suntrust Bank in Richmond in the Trust Department.

She is survived by her son; Thomas M. Anderson (Barbara), and two daughters; Ann Miller (Mike) and Debra King (Bill), all of Richmond, VA. Also one brother; Patrick Buccolini, and two sisters; Joan Houston and Lisa Zurat, all of Bradford, PA; two grandchildren Billy King (Kristen) and Jeff Anderson (Marci) and three great grandchildren; Lorelei Anderson, Geordie King and Molly King, all from Richmond, VA.

She was preceded in death by her husband Don, her brother Quido Buccolini, and sisters Argenia Sposato and Mary Vinca.

A Funeral Mass will be taking place at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 12:30 pm on Thursday, January 9th, 2025.

There will be a private graveside service for immediate family who would like to attend at Westhampton Memorial Park, Richmond, VA at 2 o’clock on Thursday, January 9th, 2024. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Woody Funeral Home-Parham, Richmond.
