

KEISTER, Edsel Talmage, 86, born June 9, 1925, Radford, Va. Son of Moody and Clistia Keister, both deceased; deceased brother, Nelson Keister; and Thomas Keister, brother living in Falls Church, Va. Tal leaves behind his loving wife of 65 years, Maxine L. Keister; daughter, Brenda K. Matheny; and son-in-law, Steven H. Matheny; two granddaughters, Catherine M. Bell, Emma M. Couse and husband, Charles Couse; and two great- granddaughters, all of Richmond.
Tal was a proud veteran who served with the U.S. Marines in the Pacific during World War II. He was a dedicated and proud officer with the Virginia State Police, rising to the rank of Captain during his 35-year career. After retirement, he was Director of Safety for Wilson Trucking Company for 10 years. He was a 30 year member of St. Andrews Methodist Church, and a long time member of Masons and Shriners. Tal will be remembered and loved by all of his family for his goodness, generosity, sense of humor, and love of life.
