My condolences and sympathy to the entire Buthe family.  I knew Elaine as an Old Town Harrisonburg resident--we (myself, Dolores Shoup, Jordan and Silas Fisher) lived on E. Wolfe Street--and as a colleague at JMU.  She was a wonderful person, kind, thoughtful, warm, positive, gentle, caring, descriptives that many, I'm sure, have ascribed to her.  Even though I hadn't see Elaine in several years or more, I will miss her.  Without a doubt, her affirming spirit will live on in many of us.  Hers was a life very well lived!

I have so many fond memories of Aunt Elaine!  From my stay at the farm when I was little to the many home cooked dinners while attending JMU.  She was a mother figure while at college and I certainly didn't realize how important those talks were until later, but they meant so much!  Your quiet and comforting love will live in my heart! Elaine and I were young ladies and dear friends just starting our  families at the same time. Jeff was born just days before my daughter. We shared so much in those days and stayed friends even if years went by. I loved her like a sister. She was kind and beautiful and loved her family so very much. I will miss everything about her. My heart goes out to Richard, Paul and Jeff and all the family. Her love will always be with you and we keep her close with the beautiful memories of her life. May peace and love be your comfort.
