Elaine Elizabeth Shorts

Elaine Elizabeth Shorts of Newport News, VA passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at the age of 77. Elaine was born on January 25, 1946 in Easton, MD where she grew up. Elaine was a homemaker and later in life enjoyed sewing items to be placed in Granny’s House of Crafts. She is pre-deceased by her parents Allmon and Mildred Hamilton, husband Terry, Brother Ronnie (Sandy) Hamilton, sister Diane (Richard) Freck, sister Peggy Butler, sister Pauline (Bill) Marine, brother Wayne Hamilton, and brother in law Billy Smith. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sherry Sindle, granddaughter Brittany Heath (LJ), grandson Robert Bowen, great grandson Evan Heath, Joey Perrier and great granddaughter Athena Perrier, sister Carol Smith, sister Dawn Callahan, brother in law Ray Butler, as well as many nieces, nephews, great friends and great neighbors. The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Mary immaculate Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital and LifeEvac crew for the care and compassion they showed as well as Traci & Mike Anderson, Brenda Blackwell and Stefanie Milner for all the support they have shown. A small private ceremony will be planned at a later date at Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery for the family.
