On Sunday, June 19, 2022, Lee Tyler Weidhaas passed away peacefully, surrounded by family in the comfort of her home. Lee was a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. It always felt special to spend time with her, whether at the river or just watching a movie on the couch. Lee's roots, stories and friends reach from Franklin County to Richmond to Seaford to Nashville. Lee was beautiful. She loved the river and the beach, outlaw country music and watching Ted Lasso on repeat.
Lee was an artist. She worked as a graphic designer for the Nashville Scene and Style Weekly and drew ballerinas for her daughters and taught them to macrame. She could do any craft project perfectly the first time she tried it. The world Lee designed around her was extraordinary to be part of and beautiful to live in.
Lee enjoyed reading the newspaper obituaries every morning. She knew that those people were loved very much and now it's her turn to have her loved ones share her story. We hope if she were with us she would cut this one out for her husband to read.
Lee is survived by her husband of 33 years, three daughters, her mother and father, brother, many dear cousins, her in-laws; and her granddog, Hugo, who curled up to sleep with her every day until the end. In her memory please consider a donation to: Richmond Animal Care and Control or the Franklin County Animal Shelter.
We want to thank so many family and friends for their love and support in the past week. Lee will be deeply, truly missed. The family would like to invite everyone to join them at Woody Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 24, for a visitation (1771 N. Parham Rd., Richmond, Va). A Celebration of Life event will be held in July. "Death cannot stop true love. All it can do is delay it for a while."
