Emmett Lee Ellen Jr.

Emmett Ellen, Jr, 86 years old of Mechanicsville, VA passed away on July 30th. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Judy Ellen, his parents Emmet, Sr and Linda Ellen, sisters Jean Marshall and Sybil Ward, brother Bill Ellen. He is survived by his children Emmett Ellen, III (Wendy), Janet Phifer (Johnny), grandchildren Ben Phifer (Emma), Katie Foster (Michael), Thomas Phifer, Michael Ellen (Lilly), great grandchildren Violet Foster and Scarlett Ellen, Sister-in-law Marilyn Lovell (Larry), and many nieces and nephews.

Emmett attended Hermitage High school, class of '59 and was inducted into the school's Football Hall of Fame. He always looked forward to the once-a-month luncheon with his high school friends, and enjoyed his Wednesday outings with his golf friends. Emmett liked anything adventurous including Ironman competitions and hiking the Appalachian Trail. He always had time for his "hairy leg friends" with a head scratch and belly rub.

A memorial service will be held August 17th at New Bethesda Baptist Church, 9019 New Bethesda Rd, Mechanicsville, VA 23116 Visitation will be at 11:am the service at 12:00pm.
