Evelyn Louise Dalrymple was called to her heavenly home on August 21, 2020. Born on June 9, 1931, Evelyn was the middle child of five born to Fred and Irene Yancey in Douglasville, Ga. She is survived by her children, Brian Dalrymple and Sharon Forbes (Chip); and grandchildren, Jessy DeVere (Gabe), Charlie Forbes, Sam Forbes, and Luke Forbes.
Evelyn married Bobby S. Dalrymple in 1957 and resided in Columbia, SC until 2000. She was a loving mother, an awesome cook and seamstress, and all-around outstanding homemaker before joining C&S Bank in the 80’s where she worked until retirement. Evelyn made friends everywhere she went from Douglasville , Ga. to Columbia, SC, Niceville, Fla., and on to her final home in Richmond, Va.
Evelyn was always eager to help others and would go out of her way to be there for her friends and children. Known as Gee Gee to her grandchildren, Evelyn loved being in their lives. From mending any tears or rips in their favorite clothes or stuffed treasures, to sending just a hello package to say she was thinking of them, Gee Gee was love. She especially enjoyed nature and always had flowers, trees, and bird feeders to tend. Evelyn will be missed by all who her knew her.
A memorial service will be held at the home of Chip and Sharon Forbes in Manakin Sabot, Va. at a later date.
